Creating a GEO Audit account unlocks saved audits, progress tracking, and premium features. This guide walks you through the signup and login process.

Creating Your Account

Starting the Signup Process

1. Visit geoaud.it
2. Click "Sign Up" button in the top navigation
3. You'll be redirected to the signup page at /signup

Signup Options

Option 1: GitHub OAuth (Recommended)

1. Click "Continue with GitHub" button
2. Authorize GEO Audit in the GitHub popup
3. Grant permissions for basic profile information
4. Account created automatically using your GitHub details
5. Redirected to dashboard with 3-day premium trial activated

Option 2: Email and Password

1. Fill out the registration form:
   • Full Name: Your real name for account identification
   • Email Address: Used for login and notifications
   • Password: Minimum 8 characters with strength requirements
   • Confirm Password: Must match your password
2. Meet password requirements:
   • At least 8 characters long
   • Contains uppercase letter
   • Contains lowercase letter
   • Contains number
   • Contains special character
3. Review password strength meter (updates in real-time)
4. Check "I agree to the Terms of Service"
5. Optionally check "Subscribe to newsletter" for updates
6. Click "Create Account" button

After Signup

• Email verification may be required
• 3-day premium trial automatically activated
• Redirected to dashboard to start your first audit
• Welcome email sent with getting started tips

Logging Into Your Account

Login Options

Option 1: GitHub OAuth

1. Go to geoaud.it/login
2. Click "Continue with GitHub"
3. Automatically logged in if GitHub session active
4. Redirected to dashboard or intended page

Option 2: Email and Password

1. Navigate to login page (click "Log In" in navigation)
2. Enter your credentials:
   • Email Address: The email you registered with
   • Password: Your account password
3. Optionally check "Remember me" for longer sessions
4. Click "Sign In" button

Troubleshooting Login Issues

Can't Remember Password

1. Click "Forgot password?" on login page
2. Enter your email address
3. Check email for password reset link
4. Follow link to create new password
5. Log in with new password

GitHub Login Problems

1. Ensure GitHub account is accessible
2. Check popup blockers aren't blocking authorization
3. Try incognito mode to bypass browser issues
4. Clear browser cache if problems persist

Email Not Recognized

1. Double-check email spelling for typos
2. Try different email if you have multiple accounts
3. Check if account exists by trying password reset
4. Contact support if still having issues

Account Locked or Suspended

1. Check email for security notifications
2. Wait 15 minutes if temporarily locked
3. Try password reset if account issues suspected
4. Contact support for account recovery assistance

• Use strong, unique password not used elsewhere
